Claypaky celebrates 50 years in Colombia alongside Audio Concept and looks toward a new chapter

Half a century after Pasquale “Paky” Quadri began transforming his vision of light into technology for entertainment, Claypaky celebrates a history marked by innovation. Bogotá joined the brand’s global celebrations with an event organized by Audio Concept that brought together clients, professionals, and regional representatives to recognize the journey so far, but also to look toward what comes next.

Fifty years in an industry that changes at the pace of technology are not just a number. For Claypaky, they represent five decades shaped by new ways of designing, programming, and using light, but also by generations of professionals who incorporated those tools into stages, theaters, and productions around the world.

The story began in 1976, when Pasquale “Paky” Quadri turned his interest in the creative possibilities of lighting into the creation of a company that would eventually establish its own place within the professional industry.

In 2026, that journey reaches its first half century, and the celebration is extending internationally under the #50weeksto50 initiative. Colombia was one of the markets to join the celebrations with an event held in Bogotá by Audio Concept, bringing together clients, colleagues, and professionals alongside Moira Milano, Regional Sales Manager, and Mauricio Brando, Regional Sales Manager LATAM at Claypaky.

Bogotá joins a global celebration

The event brought the anniversary to one of the Latin American markets where Claypaky continues to develop its presence and, at the same time, brought together around the same table those who are part of that journey from different areas of the industry.

Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, and Colombia are currently part of the regional map of a brand connected with designers, rental companies, theaters, and professionals who use its solutions across different applications and productions.

For Jean Paul Gaspard, director of Audio Concept, celebrating the anniversary in Colombia also carries a meaning connected to the continuity of that relationship with the local market.

“Celebrating Claypaky’s 50th anniversary in Colombia has a special meaning for us. It is a brand that has accompanied the evolution of professional lighting and continues to maintain that same ability to innovate. At Audio Concept, we want to continue bringing this technology closer to professionals in the country and accompany this new stage together with our clients,” Gaspard says.

The celebration in Bogotá therefore served as a space to recognize Claypaky’s journey from a regional perspective: not only through the products that marked different moments in its history, but through the relationship built with those who ultimately bring these technologies to the stage.

Fifty years and a new chapter

The anniversary also finds Claypaky going through a period of transformation.

The company begins this new stage under the ownership of EK Inc., incorporating new industrial and technological capabilities into an identity historically associated with innovation, precision, and Italian design. The stated objective is to accelerate its growth and expand its international reach without abandoning the legacy built over these first five decades.

That context turns the 50th anniversary into something more than a retrospective.

Today’s lighting technology responds to very different environments from those in which Claypaky began in 1976. Creative needs have changed, productions have grown in complexity, and the tools available to designers and operators have opened possibilities that seemed difficult to imagine a few decades ago.

For a company whose history has been closely connected to that evolution, the challenge now is to carry that journey forward to the next generations of professionals.

From legacy to what comes next

The celebration organized by Audio Concept made it possible to bring these two dimensions face to face: a history that reaches 50 years and an industry that continues to demand new answers.

From Bogotá, the anniversary also became an opportunity to strengthen the connection between manufacturers, distribution, and professionals, a relationship that is especially relevant in markets where access to technology must be accompanied by knowledge, proximity, and support.

Claypaky thus reaches its half century in motion. With a new corporate structure, a presence that continues to expand internationally, and a professional community that has accompanied its evolution across different markets, the brand begins to write its next chapter.

In Colombia, Audio Concept has already made clear its intention to be part of that journey.

Because celebrating 50 years makes it possible to look back. But for a company built around the possibilities of light, perhaps the most interesting question still lies ahead: how to illuminate the next 50.
