USA – Interoperability between video conferencing platforms and professional collaboration devices continues to expand the possibilities for modern workplace design. In this context, Cisco has announced the general availability of Zoom Rooms on its supported collaboration devices, marking another milestone in the strategic partnership between the two companies.
The native integration allows organizations using Zoom as their meeting platform to deploy its familiar user interface, home screen and collaboration experience directly on Cisco hardware. The solution combines the familiarity of the Zoom environment with Cisco’s audio and video intelligence, device management capabilities and integrated processing technologies.
Available starting with RoomOS 26.10, this new deployment option enables organizations to maintain a Zoom-centric user experience while choosing Cisco devices according to the specific requirements and characteristics of each workspace.
For organizations already operating Cisco infrastructure, the integration also provides an opportunity to extend the value of their existing hardware investments. At the same time, it opens new possibilities for businesses using Zoom Rooms that want to incorporate Cisco collaboration technology into their projects.
A platform for every type of space
Compatibility covers different device categories, ranging from small meeting rooms to large corporate spaces, auditoriums and training facilities.
Supported devices include the Room Bar, designed for small meeting rooms and huddle spaces, and Room Bar Pro, intended for medium-sized environments.
The all-in-one device category includes Desk Pro G2 and the first-generation Desk Pro, designed for focus spaces, desk environments and small collaboration rooms. Board Pro G3 is also supported, combining video conferencing and visual collaboration capabilities for meeting rooms and ideation spaces.
For more demanding installations, the integration supports Room Kit EQ and Room Kit Pro G2, together with the first-generation Room Kit Pro. These solutions are designed for large meeting rooms, boardrooms, training facilities, auditoriums and divisible spaces. The portfolio is completed by Room Kit EQX, an integrated solution for large conference rooms and corporate environments.
AI-powered audio and video intelligence
One of the main advantages of the solution is the integration of Cisco’s audiovisual intelligence directly into its collaboration devices.
AI-powered camera intelligence enables participant framing and automatic speaker tracking. In supported multi-camera configurations, the system can dynamically select the video source, framing method and layout to provide remote participants with a more complete view of what is happening in the room.
Intelligent audio processing also plays a fundamental role. Cisco microphones and speakers incorporate AI-adaptive beamforming to focus voice capture on active participants, while noise removal technologies help eliminate unwanted distractions. In larger spaces, distributed audio solutions can reinforce speech, improving intelligibility among participants in the room.
Cisco has also announced Ceiling Speaker Pro, a ceiling-mounted loudspeaker that will extend this integrated approach through distributed audio playback and intelligent voice lift, improving communication in larger meeting environments.
AV over IP: simplifying infrastructure and integration
Cisco’s approach also emphasizes AV over IP architecture as a way to simplify installations and reduce total cost of ownership.
Supported peripherals can carry power and audiovisual signals directly over Ethernet. This reduces cabling requirements, eliminates the need for standalone DSPs and additional power connections, and enables device extension through network switches.
For integrators and IT departments, this architecture provides a more unified infrastructure, with centralized deployment, monitoring and maintenance capabilities.
Centralized management for enterprise-scale deployments
Beyond the in-room experience, Cisco is addressing one of the main challenges of large-scale collaboration deployments: keeping hundreds or thousands of meeting spaces operational and ready for use.
The integration extends device and workspace management capabilities through the Zoom Admin Portal, adding device onboarding, configuration, health monitoring, alerts and remote diagnostics. Administrators can monitor both the main video device and connected accessories and peripherals, including components of Cisco’s AV over IP architecture.
These capabilities are complemented by Cisco Cloud Control, a management platform that brings together information from different workplace technology systems. Its AI Canvas tool provides a shared environment where teams can investigate issues, identify potential causes and receive actionable recommendations.
Another key capability is Workspace Advisor, which uses on-device artificial intelligence to generate digital representations of physical workspaces. These digital twins allow teams to visualize room configurations, understand their status and identify and resolve certain issues without requiring an on-site technician.
Integration with ThousandEyes also provides visibility into the network path, helping IT teams determine whether meeting quality issues are related to connectivity anomalies or other infrastructure factors.
Meanwhile, Cisco Workspaces MCP extends device and workspace information to compatible AI tools and agentic platforms. This enables administrators to query room status, review event histories, compare configurations and analyze utilization metrics.
Availability and requirements
Zoom Rooms is now generally available on supported Cisco devices running RoomOS 26.10 or later. Deployment requires a Zoom Rooms license and device registration through Cisco Collaboration Control Hub.
This new native integration expands the interoperability options already available through Zoom for Cisco Rooms, where the full-featured Zoom Meetings application runs within the Cisco Rooms experience.
With this launch, Cisco and Zoom are moving toward a more flexible collaboration model, allowing organizations to choose their meeting platform while selecting the hardware that best meets the requirements of each space. The combination aims to simplify deployment, enhance the participant experience and facilitate the management of increasingly connected corporate environments.
