Germany – WSDG, an international leader in acoustics and AV technology consulting and design, will return to leat con 2026, taking place from 6-8 October at Hamburg Messe, with Project Engineer Miriam Reinhardt presenting a specialist seminar as part of the show’s educational programme.
Taking place on Wednesday, 7 October from 17:00–17:30 on the Install Stage in Hall A4, Reinhardt’s German-language presentation, ‘Akustik, Ästhetik, Atmosphäre’ (Acoustics, Aesthetics, Atmosphere), will explore the relationship between technical planning and the requirements of modern cultural and production facilities.
Using the pavilion of the Fondation Beyeler in Basel as a case study, Reinhardt will examine how room acoustics and electroacoustics can be tailored to the differing requirements of unamplified performances and amplified concerts. The presentation will focus on close collaboration with the architectural teams, the development of individual acoustic solutions, and the harmonious integration of technology into the overall architectural concept, demonstrating how seemingly conflicting requirements can be brought together within a successful overall solution.
Drawing on her experience across theatre, live production, broadcast and AV systems design, Reinhardt will explore how acoustic and technical requirements can be integrated into the wider design of a space. Before joining WSDG Basel as Project Engineer in March 2025, Reinhardt led the Sound Department at Munich’s Theaterakademie August Everding for six years, worked as a Project Engineer at Bayerischer Rundfunk and, most recently, as a sound engineer at Theater Basel.
“Having worked both on the operational side of performance and production spaces and now as part of the design process, I have seen first-hand how closely acoustics, technology and the overall experience of a room are connected,” says Reinhardt. “I’m looking forward to sharing some of that perspective at leat con and discussing how these different considerations can come together within modern cultural and production environments.”
Reinhardt will attend leat con on 7 and 8 October together with WSDG Partner, Senior Consultant – Systems, Enno Finder. Both will be available during the show to meet with industry colleagues and discuss WSDG’s most recent projects around the world.
“Leat con provides an excellent meeting point for the different disciplines shaping today’s experience and entertainment technology environments,” concludes Dirk Noy, Senior Partner, Co-CEO at WSDG. “Miriam’s background combines practical production experience with technical planning expertise, making her particularly well placed to explore how acoustics, aesthetics and technology can work together rather than being considered in isolation.”
