The evolution of artificial intelligence is transforming the way businesses, educational institutions, and organizations collaborate every day. For David Román, Senior Director of Sales for Latin America at Shure, the real challenge is no longer simply delivering outstanding audio, but developing integrated platforms capable of supporting new ways of working while evolving alongside the technologies that will shape the years ahead.
Collaboration in corporate environments is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence-powered tools is changing how people communicate, manage meetings, and share information, driving growing demand for systems capable of integrating audio, video, control, and automation within a single ecosystem.
Against this backdrop, Shure is pursuing a strategy in which integration becomes the central focus of every development. Rather than simply adding new products to its portfolio, the company aims to build complete solutions that address today’s collaboration needs while maintaining the flexibility to evolve alongside the technological changes already reshaping the market.
“Shure is moving in step with the direction the market is taking toward complete, integrated solutions focused on the changes that artificial intelligence will bring,” explained David Román, Senior Director of Sales for Latin America at Shure.
For the company, the conversation is no longer centered exclusively on audio or video quality.
“Without a doubt, the race is in artificial intelligence, and for AI to work properly, it needs to understand what it hears,” said Román.
As a result, audio capture accuracy takes on a new level of importance. The quality of the information received by AI platforms directly influences processes such as automatic summaries, transcription, real-time translation, task automation, and intelligent assistants, making professional audio a strategic component of today’s collaborative environments.
According to Román, another aspect becoming increasingly important is the ability of products to remain relevant over time.
“Today, it’s no longer just about choosing hardware or software. What really matters is that those investments can grow and adapt in the short, medium, and long term,” he noted.
Scalability has therefore become a decisive factor for companies and institutions looking to implement technologies that are ready for future updates without having to replace their existing infrastructure. In other words, organizations need the ability to add new features through software updates and incorporate additional devices as their requirements evolve.
This vision also explains the evolution Shure has undergone over the past several years.
“Over the last two years, we’ve been expanding beyond microphones by incorporating complementary solutions to offer an integrated ecosystem that is intuitive, easy to use, and easy to deploy. As part of that strategy, the company continues to expand its portfolio with solutions such as IntelliMix Room Kits, the new IntelliMix collaboration bars, the latest generation of MXA920/MXA925 ceiling microphones, and platforms designed for native integration with Microsoft Teams Rooms. The goal is to provide turnkey solutions where audio capture, processing, video, and collaboration function as a single user experience.”
Román believes this evolution directly reflects the way organizations work today.
“We’re no longer talking only about audio or videoconferencing systems. We’re talking about precision collaboration systems designed to work alongside artificial intelligence.”
This shift is also redefining the traditional role that audio has historically played in meeting rooms. What was once just another component of the installation has now become the foundation upon which multiple intelligent processes operate, with capture quality directly determining the effectiveness of tools that are becoming increasingly common in corporate environments.
With more than a century of history, Shure believes that technological innovation only has value when it responds to real market needs.
“The principle that continues to guide us after 101 years is listening to our customers. Every solution we develop begins with the needs they share with us,” concluded Román.
As the industry conversation increasingly revolves around artificial intelligence, Shure poses a different question: How prepared is audio to power this new generation of tools? According to the company, the answer depends not only on better devices, but on ecosystems capable of transforming high-quality audio capture into meaningful information for the future of collaboration.
