Italy — A stage with no real front, a console that rotates on its own axis, an audience gathered on every side. On Friday 2 October, at the heart of Calata Mandraccio, Genova’s Porto Antico hosted Belgian DJ Novah’s set on the Outline GTO C-12 system of Show Technologies, based in Recco (Genova). Promoted by the City of Genova as part of the Fuorisalone 2026 programme during the Genoa International Boat Show and produced by RST Events, Iren Energy Live drew more than 40,000 people.

Born in Antwerp in 2001, Novah has established herself on the international hard dance scene in just a few years, with a sound built on energy, power and rhythm. Her hit “Papi” took her to the Tomorrowland stage, and today her sets fill the main stages of some of the most important international events, from Europe to South America. In Genova, Row1 opened the evening, and Genoese DJ Valentinø closed it.

The night takes up the baton from 11 April, when Charlotte de Witte’s set in Piazza Matteotti – which within hours would travel around the world, from South Korea to Chile – drew 8,000 people who remained in the square for its full duration, with total attendance across the evening exceeding 20,000. It is a format the city administration has strongly championed. In a statement published on the City of Genova’s website, Mayor Silvia Salis said: “We want young people to find the music they love in Genova, and new opportunities to experience the city, to meet and to have fun.”

Same team, different geometry. Audio was handled by rental service Show Technologies, which configured its GTO C-12 to radiate through a full 360 degrees, enveloping the space in every direction. Outline Mantas systems were deployed as monitors for Novah at the console.

On the technical side, Giancarlo “Gerry” Paladini once again worked on behalf of Show Technologies, handling system modelling and optimisation via Outline OpenArray 2 software: “Compared with April, the challenge was certainly greater. A 360-degree sound system configuration is never acoustically ideal; even so, OpenArray 2 proves reliable, predicting with exceptional accuracy what will happen on site, in the real world. A system with this SPL-to-size ratio takes a configuration like this in its stride, maintaining undistorted SPL that fully meets expectations.”

Once again, production was handled with impeccable precision by RST Events – a leader in the production of music, cultural and sports events at national level, with deep roots across the Ligurian territory. The company brings consolidated expertise in the technical and organisational management of high-profile events, overseeing every aspect from logistics and safety to communications and technical staging.
