Germany – HOF introduces the XOOP Digital FRSNL M, a Fresnel fixture featuring digital zoom technology that delivers a level of beam-shaping control previously associated mainly with larger moving lights and framing systems.
The key feature is FROSTYX SMARTGLASS technology, which allows the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the beam to be adjusted digitally and independently. As a result, the traditional round Fresnel beam can be transformed into a wide horizontal beam, a narrow vertical projection, or a light shape specifically adapted to the requirements of each space and application.
The digital zoom can be adjusted independently along the X and Y axes via DMX and RDM, or directly from the fixture’s integrated rotary controls. This capability allows precise adjustment of light distribution when the architectural or staging characteristics of a space require a specific approach.
XOOP Digital FRSNL M combines the familiar characteristics of a conventional Fresnel with the possibilities offered by digital beam-shaping control. For lighting designers, stage professionals and production teams, this expands creative options without necessarily requiring larger fixtures.
Initially developed for professional theatre and film productions, the fixture is also suitable for exhibitions, corporate events, show productions, live entertainment and rental applications.
At the heart of the XOOP Digital FRSNL M is a 200 W RGBMA 5-in-1 LED source. The mixing system combines red, green, blue, mint and amber to provide a wide color range and produce natural white tones for different lighting situations.
Ease of operation was also a key consideration during development. The fixture features two rotary push encoders on the rear panel and a full-color digital display, allowing its main parameters to be configured directly on the fixture.
Users can view and adjust settings related to digital zoom, color temperatures and color macros directly from the fixture. The unit also offers up to 255 LEE color filter presets, adjustable color temperatures from 1,800 to 20,000 K, stepless dimming and full control of the digital zoom.
Integration with existing lighting control systems is provided through DMX and RDM, while the fixture also features 16-bit dimming, multiple dimming curves, strobe effects and automatic programs.
Another feature designed to simplify operation is the automatically rotating display, which adjusts its orientation when the fixture’s position is changed.
The XOOP Digital FRSNL M also addresses the demands of camera-based applications. Its PWM frequency can be adjusted from 600 to 20,000 Hz, a feature that is particularly relevant for film, television and broadcast productions, helping to prevent flicker during image capture.
With this development, HOF brings beam-shaping capabilities traditionally associated with larger moving lights and framing systems into a compact Fresnel format. The result is a tool that expands lighting design possibilities while retaining the familiarity of the Fresnel fixture.
