Brazil opens a new chapter for Claypaky. In the year of its 50th anniversary, the historic Italian brand officially appointed Decomac as its new distributor in the country and launched a strategy that combines technology, local support, and a long-term vision. The alliance seeks to strengthen Claypaky’s presence in one of the most important markets in Latin America while supporting the evolution of an industry that increasingly demands innovation, training, and closer relationships with end users.
The Brazilian market has become the setting for a new chapter for Claypaky. Following a strategic planning process and months of groundwork, the Italian professional lighting manufacturer welcomed Decomac as its new official distributor for Brazil, consolidating an alliance designed to strengthen the brand’s presence in one of the most important and dynamic markets in Latin America.
To officially present this new phase, both companies hosted an Experience Day at Decomac’s facilities in the city of São Paulo, bringing together industry professionals and international representatives from the brand. The event featured the participation of Mauricio Brando, Claypaky’s Sales Manager for Latin America; Moira Milano, Sales Manager; Alessandro Melegaro, Product Manager and Lighting Design specialist at Claypaky; and Guillermo Distéfano, CEO of Decomac.
However, this announcement goes far beyond a commercial agreement.
The alliance was born from a shared vision that combines innovation, performance, and closeness to the Brazilian market, supported by a structure prepared to assist clients, lighting designers, rental companies, and integrators with support, training, and long-term continuity.
More than distribution, the relationship between both companies is built on common values: commitment, collaboration, and a clear strategy for the coming years.
The timing could not be more symbolic. In the year Claypaky celebrates its 50 years of history, the company founded by Pasquale Quadri in 1976 continues projecting its legacy into the future by investing in strong relationships and the sustained growth of strategic markets such as Brazil.
Two brands with strong trajectories are now joining forces with a shared ambition: to elevate the level of lighting for entertainment and live events in Brazil.

A market in full transformation
During the Experience Day, it became clear why Brazil occupies a priority position within Claypaky’s regional strategy.
According to Moira Milano, the brand’s growth in the country is being driven mainly by large-scale entertainment projects, especially concerts, tours, and live events, a segment that continues expanding thanks to an extremely dynamic music and cultural scene.
At the same time, the executive highlighted growing activity in permanent installations such as theaters, television studios, and multipurpose venues, accompanied by investments in cultural infrastructure and venue modernization.
“The market trend points toward high-performance and highly versatile solutions capable of responding both to touring needs and fixed installations,” she stated.
Milano also highlighted the evolution of Brazil’s professional ecosystem in recent years. Today there is a much more collaborative relationship between lighting designers, integrators, consultants, and manufacturers, with professionals becoming increasingly involved from the earliest stages of projects.
“The Brazilian community demonstrates a growing level of technical knowledge and enormous creative ambition. There is increasing openness toward advanced technologies and innovative solutions,” she explained.
In this context, Decomac’s local presence takes on a fundamental role.
“Its strong presence in the market allows us to stay close to customers, offer high-quality technical support, and guarantee reliable after-sales service, which are essential aspects in a country as large and diverse as Brazil,” she added.
For Claypaky, its positioning strategy currently rests on three fundamental pillars: proximity, education, and demonstration.
The company is intensifying its training programs, workshops, and demonstration events, allowing designers and rental companies to experience products under real working conditions. At the same time, it seeks to become involved earlier in project specification stages by providing technical support and customized solutions.
Technology as a response to new demands
One of the central themes of the day was the technological evolution of the Brazilian market and the way Claypaky is responding to those challenges.
For Alessandro Melegaro, Brazil is a particularly demanding market, where luminaires must respond to multiple applications and highly diverse working conditions.
“Versatility and reliability are fundamental factors,” he affirmed.
Within the current portfolio, Melegaro especially highlighted the Arolla Aqua family, developed for both indoor and outdoor applications without requiring different configurations or operational compromises.
The line incorporates features such as IP66 protection, SunSafe technology, and Follow Spot versions in selected models, solutions designed to reduce maintenance, increase reliability, and ensure operational consistency in the field.
“The idea is simple: to offer a family of luminaires capable of covering multiple needs and that users can trust in any situation,” he acknowledged.
The executive also emphasized that Brazilian users provide particularly valuable feedback for the development of new products.
Questions and observations are not limited only to luminaire performance, but also include aspects related to maintenance, ease of service, diagnostics, and management of large equipment fleets.
This reality has driven the development of tools such as CloudIO and E-Assist, platforms designed to facilitate diagnostics, technical support, and system management.
“Markets like Brazil help reinforce a broader vision where the goal is not only to offer high performance, but also to simplify maintenance, management, and support throughout the entire product lifecycle,” he stated.
Regarding market trends, Melegaro believes that demand for hybrid luminaires, LED technology, and energy-efficient solutions will continue to grow in the coming years.
However, he clarified that Claypaky’s strategy is not centered on a single technology.
“Each application requires a different solution. Our goal is to offer the right portfolio for every need, working with LED, laser, or discharge technologies depending on the application.”
This philosophy is part of the CP Green initiative, through which the company approaches sustainability from a comprehensive perspective, considering energy consumption, durability, ease of maintenance, and product lifespan.
Decomac’s commitment
For Decomac, incorporating Claypaky represents much more than adding a new brand to its portfolio.
“Being a Claypaky distributor means reaffirming our position within Brazil’s professional entertainment market, maintaining our commitment to customer service, and following the manufacturer’s philosophy regarding warranties and training,” declared Guillermo Distéfano.
With three decades of experience in the sector, the executive highlighted that Decomac’s reputation has always been based on respect for the brands it represents and on the conviction that investing in premium equipment generates real returns for its clients.
“Our objective is clear: to place Claypaky where it belongs because of its history and the quality of its products. We will use all our experience and capabilities to achieve that goal.”
The first results seem to confirm that the market has positively received this new phase.
According to Distéfano, the initial response has been excellent. “In a short time, two bids were won, which have already begun giving the brand a new face in Brazil. In addition, the rental companies we visited confirmed that Claypaky is arriving with a very aggressive pricing policy, which quickly placed it on everyone’s radar.”
A week that marked the beginning of a new stage
At the end of the activities, Mauricio Brando summarized the spirit of a week that, in his own words, was truly unique.
“I want to express my deep gratitude to our new distributor Decomac Brazil and its entire team for opening their doors to us, for their commitment, and for showing us a Brazil full of opportunities to develop and grow together.”
For several days, Claypaky representatives maintained an intense schedule of meetings, visits, and encounters with industry professionals.
“It was an extraordinary week, full of conversations that confirm the enormous market of professional lighting designers that exists in this part of the world,” he confirmed.
Brando also emphasized the human aspect of the gathering.
“There were not enough hours or even days, but there were plenty of hugs to celebrate Claypaky’s anniversary from Brazil and reconnect with lighting friends: passionate professionals who responded to our invitation with energy, curiosity, and motivation.”
Finally, he gave special thanks to Moira Milano and Alessandro Melegaro, who traveled from the company headquarters in the city of Bergamo to support the launch and witness this new phase.
With 50 years of history behind it, Claypaky is now beginning a new phase in Brazil alongside Decomac. An alliance that combines experience, innovation, and local presence, and which seeks to position the Italian brand as one of the leading players in the future of professional lighting in one of Latin America’s most relevant markets.
