Germany – Cameo is entering its next chapter. The lighting brand of the Adam Hall Group is giving its portfolio a clearer profile, taking innovation beyond the fixture and bringing its specialists closer to customers. In an interview with the Latin American trade magazine LATAM STAGE, Carmen Savarese, Business Director, Light Technology at the Adam Hall Group, explained the direction the Cameo team has set – and what it means for lighting professionals in Latin America and beyond.

Over the past decade, Cameo has grown fast and established itself on stages around the world. The next phase is about focus rather than volume. “Thanks to the team’s work, Cameo is a well-known brand today. The next step is to sharpen its identity,” says Savarese.

That identity starts with the portfolio. “We want to give the portfolio a more defined identity. We want to develop innovative lighting solutions that combine high-end performance and dependable quality for demanding productions – in rental, theatre, broadcast and architainment applications.”

What this looks like in practice is already on the market. The OPUS SP6 IP and OPUS H6 IP luminaires, together with the SP6 FC version for theatre and broadcast applications, mark the beginning of a new generation of products designed to deliver high-end performance with a strong value for demanding productions. “The new OPUS generation is the result of our product and engineering team’s work,” Savarese emphasizes.

Specialist strength, Group backing

Cameo’s sharper focus does not stand alone – it draws on the resources of the entire Adam Hall Group. “For 50 years, Adam Hall Group has been developing event technology in Germany – and today ranks among Europe’s top three manufacturers in the field. Every brand in the Group is highly specialized, and Cameo is the lighting brand built on this expertise and experience,” says Savarese. “Together with our dedicated research, development and testing facilities in Germany and feedback from lighting professionals, this helps us develop solutions around the practical needs of our users.”

Innovation beyond the fixture

For Cameo, innovation does not end at the housing. “Innovation also means improving how professionals work with their fixtures,” says Savarese. That is why the Cameo team developed Cameo CONNECT, a support solution that brings preparation, configuration, diagnostics and firmware management together in one workflow platform. Teams can prepare settings in advance, transfer them to compatible fixtures via NFC before power-up, share service data and manage firmware updates. This connected approach reduces repetitive manual work, makes setup more consistent and streamlines servicing – giving professionals more time to focus on their production.

On the hardware side, Savarese expects the next leap to come from technology the audience never sees: “The real battle will be fought over thermal management, efficiency and connectivity. These technologies will make it possible to build fixtures that are more compact, more powerful and better performing.”

Engineers talking to engineers

Savarese brings many years of international experience in professional lighting and a clear view of what matters most. “What I value most after many years in this industry is the relationship with the professionals who use our products that is what guides our roadmap.”

Cameo is therefore widening the conversation with distributors, integrators and rental companies. “Our sales team leads the customer relationship; product, technical and application specialists now join those conversations directly. These conversations are not only commercial; they are also technical and strategic. When engineers talk to engineers and specialists to specialists, the quality of the information changes completely.”

This proximity matters just as much in North and Latin America, where Cameo sees plenty of room to grow. “Together with our sales team, we see strong growth potential in the Americas,” says Savarese.

A consistent, long-term partner

Asked how she would like the industry to see Cameo in the years ahead, Savarese keeps it short: “I want the industry to see Cameo as a consistent, long-term partner.” And she makes it clear that Cameo’s next chapter is no one-person agenda: “Shaping Cameo’s future is a shared effort, guided by the belief that nobody should be left behind. It builds on the work of our teams and on listening to the colleagues, partners and professionals who help shape the brand’s next chapter.”

In Latin America, Pablo Pittavino, International Sales Manager for Latam at Adam Hall Group, is the sales contact for Cameo.
