Buenos Aires was the setting for a key day in professional lighting in Argentina: the 2025 Claypaky Open Day, held at the showroom of its official distributor, Macaio.

There, the Italian brand presented its two most anticipated launches of the year —Ultimo Sharpy and Arolla Aqua LT— as part of the celebrations for its 50th anniversary. With technical demonstrations, live tests and a close encounter with the local community, the event strengthened Claypaky’s commitment to the Latin American market and reinforced Macaio’s strategic presence as its major ally in the country.

Claypaky’s perspective: 50 years of innovation moving forward

For Mauricio Brando, regional sales manager for Latin America, the presentation in Buenos Aires holds a special meaning within the brand’s global calendar. “I am very excited to showcase these new products in Argentina as part of the celebrations leading up to Claypaky’s 50th anniversary—the Arolla Aqua LT and the Ultimo Sharpy, two fixtures that represent the bridge between the company’s innovative tradition and the growing demand for advanced technology.”

Brando highlighted the potential of the Argentine market to adopt these new categories: “They will have a very interesting reception due to the needs they cover, thanks to the different parameters that make these fixtures innovative and special for the shows in our region.”

He also announced a very active joint agenda with the distributor: scheduled demonstrations, more events before March 2026, and the possibility of personalized visits to the showroom to see the new equipment up close. “Thanks to Macaio’s support, exciting months are ahead.”

Macaio, the brand’s strategic ally in the country

Joaquín Méndez Trongé, Key Account Manager at Macaio, emphasized the importance of this Open Day: “It’s a tradition we have been maintaining every year, where we present the new fixtures and the latest Claypaky innovations,” he noted.

“This year, the main protagonist was the Arolla Aqua LT, the Long Throw version of the Aqua series—a 900 W LED hybrid with shutters, a more concentrated beam and ideal capacity for stadiums. It is a truly versatile fixture, and it also comes in an FS version to use it as a followspot,” he explained.

Regarding the Ultimo Sharpy, Méndez Trongé focused on its historical relevance and technological update: “It is a reissue of the Sharpy, the brand’s flagship. The new version incorporates a 250 W lamp with a lifespan of 6000 hours—far above the 1500 hours of traditional models—CMY filter and infinite pan. It has a ‘Sharpie mode’ in which the fixture behaves exactly like the original version, for those who still use it,” he added.

For Macaio, representing Claypaky means keeping the bar high. “It is a company that gives and demands. It pushes us to meet the industry’s demanding standards,” he stated. He also anticipated a very active 2026 with an even closer presence within the lighting community. “We want to accompany the brand in what will be a very active year. It’s their 50th anniversary, and there will be many launches and demonstration tours,” he assured.

The Claypaky Open Day in Buenos Aires was not just a product presentation: it was a statement of direction. With the Arolla Aqua LT and the Ultimo Sharpy as the standard-bearers of a new generation of fixtures, the brand reaffirms its global leadership while Macaio strengthens its role as a technical and commercial bridge in Argentina.

In a historic year for Claypaky, the commitment is toward a closer, more educational and more dynamic agenda, propelling the local professional community toward a future where innovation and excellence set the pace of every stage.
