Spain — Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) has strengthened the visual and technical quality of its A3 studio at Torrespaña (Madrid) with the installation of two Alfalite NEOPIX 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB LED screens, becoming the first application of NEOPIX in Broadcast environments.
The installation consists of a main curved screen measuring 7 x 2 meters and a second screen measuring 9 x 1 meter, both designed to meet the specific demands of television production. The screens will serve as the main visual support for the broadcast of flagship programs such as El Tiempo, Informe Semanal, and the interview program Plano General.
The project was carried out in collaboration with Datos Media Technologies, Alfalite’s technology partner, and consolidates the presence of the Spanish manufacturer in one of the country’s most important audiovisual production centers.
The installed screens belong to the NEOPIX family, Alfalite’s premium range aimed at critical applications where image quality, uniformity, and reliability are decisive.
For this project, NEOPIX displays with a 1.5 mm pixel pitch have been installed, incorporating MATIX AlfaCOB technology, an in-house development by Alfalite based on Chip-on-Board (COB) encapsulation that improves LED protection, visual uniformity, and thermal dissipation. This solution also offers a more robust surface, easy to maintain, and suitable for the intensive use typical of television studios.
This new installation adds to the close collaboration that Alfalite has maintained with RTVE since 2021. In 2023, the corporation took a decisive step in the modernization of its studios with the installation of 964 Alfalite ModularPix Pro 1.9 ORIM LED modules in different studios at Torrespaña, Prado del Rey, and regional centers, in a project awarded and integrated by Datos Media Technologies. These screens supported news programs, weather segments, and current affairs shows as part of RTVE’s overall technological renewal plan.
Now, with the incorporation of NEOPIX 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB in the A3 studio, RTVE takes another step forward in the evolution of its visual infrastructure.
