PROSOUND is one of the largest corporate and sporting event production and rental specialist in Serbia and the Balkans region. The Belgrade based company has an HQ at the Sava Center, the city’s major conference, and congress centre complex, which also includes a concert hall venue for which PROSOUND is the preferred in-house event management and technical services supplier.
All their kit is kept in pristine condition, and they invest in premium brands, explained Igor Bulatović, PROSOUND’s general manager.
They have invested steadily in Robe in recent years, especially since LSD DOO (Light and Sound Design d.o.o.) became the Robe distributor at the end of 2023, and there are currently over 200 Robe products available, including iFORTES, iESPRITES, T1 Profiles, PAINTES, LEDBeam 150 and 350s and two RoboSpot systems, all of which are active all of the time!
They will soon be adding Tetra2s and Tarantulas to the inventory.
The company is owned by Igor Bulatović and Bosko Nikolić who started it 16 years ago, then primarily providing translation systems. It grew rapidly as the owners spotted a gap in the market for a full-service professional equipment rental company. PROSOUND now has an events division with the management team which works alongside the thriving technical production side of the company.
Igor explained that the decision to start investing in Robe was based on the brand’s general popularity, its strong pan-European presence, and its recognition as a market leader.
“Robe offers a great range of products for many different applications, which all meet the demands our top-level clients are requesting” he explained.
Events of varying sizes are staged every day at the Sava Center plus at a series of off-site hubs and workspaces, and PROSOUND also supplies a myriad of shows and events that are unconnected to the venue.
On average, they will design the lighting for around 70% of the incoming events to the Sava Center over the year, the largest will typically be something like “Heart Future Serbia” that occupies all 44 available spaces, welcomes around 10,000 delegates and consumes most of PROSOUND lighting, sound and AV kit for the duration.
Igor and some of the PROSOUND team recently visited the Robe factory in the Czech Republic and were super impressed with the facilities, set up, the organisation, and scope of the operation.
As well as having quality lights to service their clients, Igor underlines the importance of the service and support received from LSD “we appreciate their flexibility, availability and dedication to being a great service provider, with constant educational seminars and trainings, and 24/7 support” he confirmed.
Part of the service has included training on all of the new Robe products.
Igor’s favourite Robe fixture is the iFORTE:
“It is a mighty unit, that impresses everyone with sheer power, but also with finesse. Also, the fact the we occasionally use it outdoors, regardless of the weather, make it a clear winner!”
Igor also likes the quality of the T1’s light output, especially on camera, and for PROSOUND this has become a go-to key light for broadcast environments and streamed events – which is most of them today!
To top it all, he fell in love with LEDBeam 150, of which PROSOUND has nearly 100.
“It is so compact and easy to use anywhere. You can use it for concerts and all events it is so versatile but has plenty of power and punch. They look great in a space in small or large quantities, although personally she prefers some of the smaller shows … where you have to be creative and make your imagination work more inventively!”
They find themselves constantly testing kit extensively before it goes onto a show and gathering opinions from their crew and lighting team as to what’s hot … and what’s not out there in the industry as it is important to keep up.
Igor thinks the policy to purchase only premium kit in a highly competitive market has helped grow the business and bring kudos.
“We have many international clients here and service events in other parts of Europe, so its important for us to have the best kit to work in those circles. When people see that you have premium brand, they know they came at the right address.”
