France – The Color South Festival is firmly established as a flagship summer event on the French Riviera, not just for its stellar line up of DJs and EDM performers, but also for the regular explosions of colored powder which bring a special energy to the crowd, creating a unique spectacle in the process.
The festival’s fifth edition took place this August 7th at the historic Arènes de Fréjus, a dramatic 12,000 capacity Roman amphitheatre dating back to the 1st Century.
With an artist roster including Adixia, DJ Rox R, DJ Dan, NØMA, Tuslay, Shad Hottaboy, and DJems, festival organisers Doremi would clearly be required to provide a FOH audio system capable of delivering the high-level, high-impact, full-range sound necessary to create a party vibe from the front to the back of the audience and sustain it throughout the event.
So, the Fréjus-based production company called upon their strategic partners ETTEC, event technology specialists from nearby Solliès-Ville, who flew left and right line arrays of 10 x NEXO GEO M10s under a single MSUB15, with low frequency extension from 14 x NEXO L18 subs stacked in pairs in front of the stage.
“It’s amazing what such a compact, 1 x 10” system can achieve” reports ETTEC Manager François Revest. “Along with NEXO P10 front fills, the GEO M10 provided excellent coverage across the audience and the L18 subs delivered the uncompromising low-end punch that’s essential at an EDM event like this one.”
NEXO’s industry-standard point-source P+ Series speakers were also in service as on-stage monitors, part of a system powered entirely by NEXO NXAMPs.
