The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) noted that during the 2026 NAMM Show, the association will be celebrating its 125-year anniversary.
The National Piano Manufacturers Association of America first established the retail association in 1901 as the National Association of Piano Dealers of America (NAPDA). Its first convention took place in Baltimore in 1902.
After changing its name to the National Association of Piano Merchants of America (NAPMA) in 1912, the group’s name changed once more to its current moniker, National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) in 1919 to reflect a wider array of musical instruments sold by member retailers.
“With each passing year we have seen the music products industry grow to what it is today,” the association noted recently. “We can’t wait for you to join us in celebration at the 2026 NAMM Show.”
The 2026 NAMM Show returns to the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA from Jan. 20-24, 2026 with the exhibition floor open from Jan. 22-24.
