USA – MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems will introduce the MDoG-8800 at IBC2026, extending its next-generation openGear portfolio with a high-density fiber transport solution for 12G-SDI and 4K/8K workflows. The MDoG-8800 will receive its global debut at MultiDyne’s IBC2026 stand (11.C12) from September 11-14 at the RAI Amsterdam.

The MDoG-8800 brings MultiDyne’s proven point-to-point fiber transport expertise to an open-architecture platform that broadcasters and AV professionals can configure around their preferred mix of technologies. The module evolves MultiDyne’s established quad -channel 3G openGear fiber transport offering to 12G-SDI, enabling single-link 4K signal transport while increasing channel density and simplifying system design. Embedded audio and ancillary data pass transparently with the SDI signal.

Each MDoG-8800 supports eight channels and incorporates a 12G routing crosspoint that allows users to direct any input to one, several or all available outputs. This flexible internal routing supports a broad range of unidirectional and bidirectional configurations, including four-channel transmit and four-channel receive operation, while helping users adapt the same module to changing signal-distribution requirements.

MultiDyne will offer the MDoG-8800 in two primary optical configurations. A fiber-per-signal version provides eight discrete optical connections for facilities with abundant fiber capacity and workflows that favor straightforward point-to-point connectivity. An integrated CWDM version multiplexes eight signals onto one fiber and can be cascaded with a second module to transport 16 signals over a single fiber. This combination gives customers the freedom to prioritize simplicity, fiber efficiency or system density according to the application.

“The MDoG-8800 is a classic MultiDyne fiber transport solution redesigned for the bandwidth, density and operational flexibility that modern facilities require,” said Jesse Foster, Director of Strategic Accounts and Products, MultiDyne. “Moving from 3G to 12G gives customers a direct single-link path for 4K, while the eight-channel architecture and integrated routing crosspoint let them build the exact transport configuration they need. The choice of fiber-per-signal or integrated CWDM also ensures that the module fits equally well in new facilities and established fiber environments.”

The module will also support optical- and copper-side protection workflows, allowing users to monitor redundant inputs and automatically switch to a healthy source if the primary signal fails. Through the openGear DashBoard control ecosystem, operators can centrally configure, monitor and manage the module alongside equipment from other participating manufacturers. A RESTful API planned for a future release will provide an additional path for integration with higher-level facility control and orchestration systems.

The compact openGear form factor makes the MDoG-8800 well suited for broadcast trucks, machine rooms, campus and metropolitan fiber links, and building-to-building connectivity. Deployed in a 2RU openGear frame, the architecture can scale to as many as 80 12G-SDI signals, with redundant power and intelligent cooling supplied by the frame. The result is a space-efficient platform that combines MultiDyne fiber performance with the vendor choice, hot-swappable modularity and unified monitoring that make openGear attractive for broadcast, production and professional AV infrastructure.

“MDoG is the foundation for MultiDyne’s next generation of openGear products, which include our first IP gateways for uncompressed and low-latency JPEG-XS workflows,” said Frank Jachetta, President and CEO, MultiDyne. “The MDoG-8800 broadens the portfolio with the brand of flexible, reliable fiber transport that has defined MultiDyne for decades, now with the bandwidth and management capabilities customers need for the future.”
