Meyer Sound previews TIGRA and 1800-LFC at NAMM 2026, with a clear focus on the Latin American market

From Anaheim, at the recent NAMM 2026 edition, Meyer Sound unveiled two solutions that mark the next step in its line array ecosystem. TIGRA, a new model joining the family, and its low-frequency companion 1800-LFC were officially presented by Juan Carlos Yepes, International Sales Manager for Latin America.

The brand’s strategy is clear: expand its portfolio with next-generation solutions while maintaining acoustic consistency, scalability, and system compatibility.

According to Yepes, TIGRA positions itself as the “younger sibling” of PANTHER, directly inheriting its technological DNA. “TIGRA is a dual 10-inch box with a high-frequency diaphragm of 4 inches. It’s significantly more compact and powerful,” he said.

Though still a prototype, its performance goal is clearly defined. “TIGRA is aiming for 146 dB peak sound pressure level, which has us really excited,” said Yepes, emphasizing its high-performance focus in a contained format.

A key element of this new platform is the integration of Gen 1 technology, which redefines the system’s internal processing architecture. “Gen 1 technology means it has digital inputs for Milan, with primary and secondary networks for redundancy, as well as analog inputs as a fallback if the digital fails,” he explained. “Gen 1 allows us to have the DSP inside the box—all the EQ, filters, everything you need.”

In that sense, Yepes was clear about the system’s operating concept: “Basically, the output of a Galaxy processor is inside this box, so all tuning can be done directly within TIGRA.”

Alongside TIGRA, Meyer Sound introduced its natural low-frequency companion. “In addition to TIGRA, we have its companion—the 1800-LFC, an 18-inch subwoofer using the same technology as the 2100. It’s the 2100’s little brother,” explained Yepes. The subwoofer integrates “four voice coils arranged in parallel to two amplifiers in bridge mode, delivering over 3,000 watts of power.”

Designed to reach approximately 143 dB of sound pressure, the 1800-LFC shares the same design philosophy. “It’s a very compact and powerful box, also with Gen 1 technology, meaning DSP and all processing is inside the cabinet, along with both analog and digital audio inputs,” he detailed.

System compatibility is another key pillar of this new release. “The main strength here is that it’s a very compact box with very high SPL, and it will be fully compatible with PANTHER,” said Yepes. He added: “It can be flown using a transition bar beneath PANTHER—not just physically, but acoustically—because the phase and frequency response are exactly the same as PANTHER’s.”

The same applies to the subwoofer ecosystem. “With the 1800-LFC, we see the same match in phase and frequency response, as it mirrors the 2100,” he noted, enabling flexible combinations within the system. “We can confidently say that TIGRA can be used perfectly with the 1800, the 2100, and our new subwoofer, the USW-121P.”

From a regional perspective, Yepes emphasized the impact this solution will have in Latin America. “This product sits below PANTHER and above LEOPARD, but in terms of cost, compared to its SPL and size, it’s really going to open up a lot of opportunities,” he stated. He also outlined the main target applications: “Churches, smaller rental companies, small theaters, convention centers… especially for a rapidly growing segment in Latin America—mid-size rental companies.”

Looking ahead, Yepes shared the upcoming roadmap: “The first TIGRA demos will take place at this year’s InfoComm in June.” Then, as shipments begin, “we’ll be doing demos across several Latin American countries,” confirming that “orders have already been placed for multiple countries” and “we’ll have TIGRA and 1800-LFC very soon in Latin America.”

Finally, taking advantage of the NAMM setting, the executive confirmed that special launch offers are available for the region. “We have special deals for TIGRA and 1800-LFC: if you order before the end of April, you’ll get a special, highly competitive price,” he concluded, inviting direct contact.

Meyer Sound’s move goes beyond new product launches: it strengthens a system architecture where integration, compatibility, and evolution come together in a unified ecosystem.
