USA – Martin Audio’s US Open Day took place at the Amphitheatre at Doral Central Park, Florida, on Thursday 8 October 2026, with two identical sessions at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., so visitors could attend whichever was most convenient for their day.
Visitors experienced Martin Audio’s most complete lineup of loudspeaker solutions installed in an amphitheater. Demonstrations included WPC, WPS and WPM from the Wavefront Precision optimized line array series, the constant curvature arrays of TORUS, suitable for throws of 50 to 100 feet, and the premium point source FlexPoint system, which handles both fills for larger systems and performance-oriented installations for smaller venues.
Without walls to contain the sound, visitors were able to hear how, at real distances, the systems maintain level and coverage throughout the space, while preventing audio from escaping beyond the boundaries, as demonstrated at the recent Pickathon festival in Oregon.
That degree of control comes from a combination of prediction and optimization, provided by DISPLAY. System designers set the SPL and frequency response required at different points in a space, and the software determines the array configuration and sound propagation that will achieve them.
Users could also define areas that are not audience areas and, in zones where a high level of control is required, they could establish Hard Avoid zones, which reduce the sound by up to 30 dB at that point, such as an audience boundary, allowing promoters to confidently predict whether a design is within a noise limit.
The same capability addresses installation requirements, because a reflective rear wall, a balcony edge or a low ceiling present challenges for coherence, and Hard Avoid manages them by keeping energy away from that reflective surface. Wavefront Precision enclosures now also feature increased protection against rust, corrosion and UV rays, in addition to an IP54 rating, making them suitable for both touring inventories and fixed installations.
“A specification sheet does not convey the true capabilities of our systems; you have to experience them in person. Likewise, a demonstration room will tell you what a loudspeaker sounds like, but not what it does at one hundred or one hundred and fifty feet,” said Lee Stein, Vice President of Martin Audio North America. “Prediction and control are aspects that rental and installation companies value, and this venue offers the space necessary to showcase everything Martin Audio can do.”
The event proved ideal for rental companies, systems integrators, consultants and production professionals, with the US team present and refreshments throughout the day.
