USA – The 2026 World Football Championship will be the most operationally complex in the 96-year history of the event, encompassing 48 teams, 104 matches, 16 stadiums, and three countries over six weeks. The tournament is set to be the largest event LiveU has carried out to date. Broadcasters will have access to LiveU field units, intelligent connectivity, logistical support, and cloud infrastructure, enabling video teams of all sizes to transmit every moment on and off the field, in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, without interruption.
LiveU IQ (LIQ) brings a new level of connectivity intelligence to this deployment, continuously analyzing available cellular bandwidth and automatically switching to the best-performing networks, allowing teams to stream live even when stadium networks reach peak capacity. LIQ is available at venues in the United States for this tournament. Together with LiveU’s field units and cloud solutions covering recording, production, and distribution, customers arrive at each match with the operational confidence to focus on storytelling, not logistics. LIQ has already proven itself on the global stage at the recent Winter Games, delivering average bitrates 36% higher.
LiveU will also provide its largest data packages ever for a single event (up to 1 TB with the option for additional capacity), giving teams the ability to run multiple simultaneous streams without rationing bandwidth. For the first time, LiveU brings its full production ecosystem to a single tournament. LiveU Record simultaneously captures every live transmission to the cloud in full broadcast quality, ensuring nothing is lost if a connection drops. And LiveU Nexus allows broadcasters to pull any IP-based source (remote commentary, a social stream, a guest interview) directly into their transmission chain, without the need for additional hardware.
Quotes from Ophir Zardok, Director of Sports Strategy and Business Development at LiveU: “We will guarantee full coverage across all 16 venues, with the ability to supply equipment at any location for any client, and the flexibility our customers need. In 2022, Qatar attracted around five billion reported viewers across television and digital platforms worldwide. This year’s tournament could surpass that milestone, setting a new benchmark for broadcasters and creating historic moments.”
“LIQ is a paradigm shift for global broadcasters, online media, streamers, and brand activators who will rely on LiveU for unmatched connectivity and support. When the world is watching, there is no room for error. LiveU exists precisely for moments like this, and we are ready to support our customers every step of the way.”
