The Brazilian distributor sees the U-Series as an opportunity to expand design and integration possibilities in a market demanding performance, efficiency, and flexibility. The event also highlighted Decomac’s 15 years as d&b audiotechnik’s official distributor in Brazil, a partnership built around technology, local support, and the development of the professional audio market.
Brazil — Heavy rain swept across São Paulo, but the weather did not disrupt Decomac’s plans. On September 9, the company brought together clients, technicians, integrators, and audio professionals for the official Brazilian launch of d&b audiotechnik’s new U-Series. Every registered attendee showed up, reflecting the interest generated by this new platform of compact multipurpose point-source loudspeakers.
Held under the name Audio Experience d&b, the event was designed to give attendees an opportunity to explore the new series beyond its technical specifications. Demonstrations allowed participants to listen to the systems and d
For Decomac, the presentation also carried special significance. In 2026, the company celebrates 15 years as d&b audiotechnik’s official distributor in Brazil. The arrival of the U-Series therefore marks a new chapter in a partnership that began in 2011 and has since evolved alongside the changing needs of Brazil’s professional audio market.

U-Series: acoustic versatility and integration freedom
With the U-Series, d&b audiotechnik introduces a new generation of compact multipurpose point-source loudspeakers designed to meet the demands of a wide range of applications, from permanent installations to mobile productions and live events.
The family comprises three models—U3, U5, and U7—available in both passive and Networked versions: U3N, U5N, and U7N. Both architectures share the same physical characteristics and acoustic performance, allowing users to select the most suitable configuration according to each project’s requirements and infrastructure.
One of the key features of the design is its bipolar arrangement of two low-frequency drivers, which enables vertical directivity control down to approximately 500 Hz. This contributes to more controlled sound distribution in a frequency range where maintaining precise directivity can be particularly challenging for compact loudspeakers.
The series also features a new high-frequency horn and waveguide assembly that can be rotated by 90 degrees without tools. This allows coverage to be adapted to different mounting orientations without modifying the loudspeaker’s structure.
The three models offer different cabinet sizes and dispersion options to meet the requirements of various applications. All models also deliver low-frequency response down to 55 Hz and incorporate port technology developed from concepts used in d&b’s SL Series.
The design addresses the demands of two environments that traditionally require different solutions. Its discreet appearance, with no visible rigging points or handles, supports architectural integration in permanent installations, while its robust enclosure and available accessories make it suitable for touring applications.
A new tool for rental companies and integrators
For Guillermo Distefano, CEO of Decomac, the arrival of the U-Series represents a significant evolution in the compact point-source loudspeaker category.
“I believe the U-Series will represent a revolution in this segment, thanks to the size of the cabinets, d&b’s signature sound quality, ease of deployment, and the variety of available accessories,” he says.
Beyond its acoustic characteristics, Distefano identifies a specific opportunity for rental companies working across corporate events, one-off shows, and permanent installations in theatres and concert venues.
In this context, the ability to deploy the same loudspeaker family across different environments can help companies optimize their available resources. According to Distefano, rental companies will be able to incorporate the U-Series into permanent installations using d&b’s 5D amplifier, freeing up D40 amplifiers for mobile productions that require touring equipment.
This flexibility is particularly relevant for companies that need to serve projects of different scales without unnecessarily expanding their inventory or tying up resources needed for rental operations.
Distefano also sees opportunities in corporate audio applications. In particular, he believes the Networked versions could facilitate system deployment in this segment through the connectivity and integration options offered by their architecture.

Networked: infrastructure becomes part of the design
The difference between the passive and Networked versions goes beyond how the loudspeakers are powered. It also determines how signal distribution, processing, and control are handled throughout the system.
“The passive versions integrate into d&b’s established amplifier ecosystem, while the Networked versions incorporate DSP electronics and network connectivity into each cabinet. They support AC or PoE++ power, as well as connectivity and control through Milan-compatible networks and d&b’s management tools,” explains Christian Stumpp, Sales Manager for Latin America at d&b audiotechnik.
In compatible configurations, combining PoE++ power, audio, and control can simplify cabling and decentralize system infrastructure. This is particularly useful in projects where loudspeaker placement, architectural constraints, or installation logistics make it advantageous to reduce reliance on centralized amplifier racks.
The Networked versions also open up possibilities for distributed audio systems and immersive applications, including Soundscape, d&b’s platform for creating spatial sound experiences.
Stumpp adds that “the choice between a passive and a networked architecture will therefore depend on each project’s characteristics, operational requirements, and integration needs. The U-Series brings both options together within a single family, giving designers, integrators, and sound companies greater freedom.”
As a complement to the series, d&b also introduced the B10 subwoofer, a compact bass-reflex model featuring dual 10-inch drivers. The family includes versions for both touring and permanent installations, as well as Networked variants, expanding configuration options for projects requiring additional low-frequency reinforcement.
From product launch to hands-on experience
Decomac’s strategy for developing the U-Series market extends beyond the launch itself. The company plans to continue bringing the systems to integrators, technical managers, rental companies, and audio professionals through demonstrations and training activities.
“We plan to invite integrators, technicians, buyers, and rental customers to our showroom so they can get to know the different models and hear them in action. The idea is for them to evaluate what each model offers and understand its potential applications,” Distefano explains.
The distributor also plans to organize demonstrations in accessible venues where the loudspeakers can be connected and heard under suitable conditions. The goal is to allow professionals to experience the systems’ actual performance and relate their characteristics to the needs of their own projects.
In terms of training, Decomac draws on the experience gained from introducing other d&b series in Brazil. Distefano particularly highlights the technical expertise of Alexandre Rabaço, who contributes to the company’s training and support activities.
The strategy is to turn initial interest into knowledge, confidence, and new business opportunities for the distributor’s customers through hands-on demonstrations and technical support.
Fifteen years of developing the d&b market in Brazil
The U-Series presentation coincides with an anniversary that highlights Decomac’s track record in Brazil’s professional audio industry. Since 2011, the company has served as d&b audiotechnik’s official distributor in the country, beginning its partnership at a time when the technical requirements of international productions were increasing demand for sound systems recognized across the global touring circuit.
Establishing a brand’s local presence involves much more than making equipment available. It also requires inventory, technical assistance, training, and the ability to respond to the needs of rental companies, venues, and installation projects. These are among the areas Decomac has developed over the past 15 years.
During this period, d&b systems have been deployed in projects of different types and across several regions of Brazil. These include Teatro SESC Santana in São Paulo, the system installed at Mural do Barrageiro at the Itaipu Dam, and projects in religious venues such as Catedral Guamá in Belém. In Salvador, Teatro IDERB incorporated a 7.1 sound configuration for its performances.
Another significant milestone came in 2017, with the opening of a showroom dedicated to Soundscape. The facility introduced Brazilian professionals, as well as visitors from other parts of the region, to the possibilities of immersive audio.
“These projects reflect the wide range of applications a professional audio platform can serve, from cultural venues and houses of worship to installations exposed to demanding environmental conditions and immersive sound reproduction,” says Guillermo Distefano.
Ongoing technical support has also been an important part of the partnership. Alexandre Rabaço is part of the team supporting customers and system applications, while d&b audiotechnik’s regional organization connects the distributor with the manufacturer’s international operations.

A partnership looking toward new applications
Fifteen years after beginning its representation of d&b in Brazil, Decomac is introducing a new family designed to address an increasingly broad market demand: compact solutions that deliver professional performance and adapt to multiple scenarios while retaining the advantages of an integrated platform.
The U-Series offers options for touring, permanent installations, and networked systems. Its potential lies not only in cabinet size or acoustic performance, but also in the ability to choose different architectures and tailor each configuration to the technical and operational requirements of a project.
The turnout in São Paulo, where every registered attendee arrived despite the heavy rain, highlighted the industry’s interest in discovering new tools and sharing experiences.
For Decomac, the challenge now is to translate that interest into real-world projects by demonstrating the systems, providing training, and supporting professionals as they explore the possibilities of the new series.
The U-Series marks a new technological chapter for d&b audiotechnik in Brazil, while Decomac’s 15 years as the brand’s official distributor serve as a reminder that developing a brand in professional audio takes more than new products. It requires local expertise, reliable support, and relationships built over time.
Fifteen years into its journey with d&b audiotechnik, Decomac demonstrates that developing a brand in a demanding market such as Brazil requires far more than distributing technology: it calls for expertise, commitment, and lasting relationships with the professionals who use it. The U-Series represents a new chapter in that story, as well as an opportunity to expand the horizons of professional audio in Brazil. Because when innovation meets local experience and a long-term vision, a system’s true potential is measured not only by what it delivers today, but by everything it will make possible tomorrow.
