USA – dBTechnologies USA has appointed SK Mac as its manufacturers’ representative firm for the Metro New York and Mid-Atlantic territories. SK Mac is supporting the continued growth of dBTechnologies across the professional audio, systems integration, production and MI markets.

Established in 1926 by Samuel King Macdonald, SK Mac has served the region’s professional audio industry for a century. The company began representing Shure in 1931 and celebrates its 95th year with the manufacturer in 2026—an enduring relationship that reflects the stability, integrity and market expertise at the foundation of the firm.

The appointment follows a strategic review of SK Mac’s professional audio portfolio and places dBTechnologies within a focused group of manufacturers represented across both territories. The partnership significantly expands the range of portable, touring and installed-audio solutions SK Mac can offer while giving dBTechnologies an established platform for growth throughout Metro New York and the Mid-Atlantic.

“There is a real excitement around dBTechnologies in the U.S. market, and welcoming SK Mac into our representative network strengthens our ability to build on that momentum. From our first meeting, it was clear that this is a great fit. SK Mac has built its success over the past 100 years through a genuine commitment to its relationships,” said Matthew Whitman, National Sales Manager, dBTechnologies USA. “Principals Greg Geiser and Jason Drayer, together with the entire SK Mac team, bring the market knowledge, technical expertise, infrastructure and boots on the ground needed to expand the brand’s presence—we’re looking forward to making waves together.”

SK Mac entered a new chapter in 2025 when Geiser and Drayer acquired the company. Under their leadership, the firm continues to build upon its longstanding reputation while investing in the people, systems and technical resources required to support today’s professional AV market.

“SK Mac is very excited to begin our partnership with dBTechnologies,” said Jason Drayer, Principal, SK Mac. “We believe products such as the OPERA REEVO and VIO family are poised for big things, and we look forward to doing our part to increase the dBTechnologies footprint throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Metro New York territories.”

The SK Mac organization combines more than 125 years of collective manufacturers’ representative experience. Its award-winning team includes 10 sales engineers and five customer service professionals, bringing together extensive backgrounds in professional audio, systems integration, production and AV/IT. Its technical capabilities include CAD, acoustic modeling and DSP programming across platforms such as Q-SYS and Biamp Tesira. The company’s collaborative structure allows it to deploy the appropriate sales or technical resources for each customer and project.

Since 2018, SK Mac has also provided professional services including loudspeaker-system design and room tuning, DSP and control-system programming, RF scanning and coordination, room commissioning, and lighting design and programming. Its market-development work extends across commercial AV, education, production and government, where the firm maintains relationships with a broad range of federal departments, military organizations and cultural institutions.

The appointment connects dBTechnologies with a deeply established regional partner with the personnel and technical capabilities to support dealers, integrators, consultants, production companies and end users at every stage—from product demonstrations and training through system design and commissioning.
