USA – Crestron Electronics is expanding its DM NVX platform with the new 370 Series, a hardware family that brings USB-C connectivity directly to the devices while introducing the company’s first internally developed System-on-Chip (SoC).
The new generation is built around a vision that Crestron defines through three elements converging within DM NVX: signal, platform and infrastructure. Signal refers to the ability to transport virtually any source to almost any display; the platform represents a scalable, long-term investment supported by ongoing updates; and the infrastructure integrates networked audio and video capabilities as a core layer within the broader IT network.
USB-C as a connection point for the room
One of the key changes introduced with the DM NVX 370 Series is the addition of USB-C directly on the device. Through a single cable, users can handle video, USB data and up to 100W of device charging.
The series also retains HDMI inputs, expanding connection options and allowing the system to adapt to different installation and usage requirements.
An SoC designed specifically for professional AV
The 370 Series also marks a significant step for DM NVX by introducing Crestron’s first internally designed SoC chipset.
During development, the company established 4K60 4:4:4 processing, native audio and continuous 24/7 operation as design targets. The DM NVX SoC was engineered specifically to address the demands of professional AV environments rather than adapting a general-purpose platform to these applications.
According to Crestron, this architecture delivers up to 30% greater power efficiency. The strategy also allows new capabilities to be introduced through firmware updates over time, extending the functionality of deployed systems without requiring hardware replacement.
“DM NVX has always been the infrastructure behind how spaces run, but what’s evolving now is how we bring in even more intelligence and capabilities to those deployments,” says Alex Peras, EVP of Product and Engineering at Crestron.
“The DM NVX SoC is our own design, specifically tuned to what these environments require, and the 370 Series is the first product built on this foundation to show what is possible. The result is elements like USB-C connectivity and adding 100 watts of power delivery to the table, which bring that full picture to life.”
The new DM NVX 370 Series and the latest additions to the DM NVX portfolio are now available.
