The first Chauvet Lighting Designers Summit Latin America brought together 11 renowned Lighting Designers from Mexico and distinguished Puerto Rican designer Krizia Velez in Puerto Vallarta. Set against the idyllic backdrop of the Mexican Pacific, this exclusive event, held from October 6 to 9, was an experience blending innovation, dialogue, and relaxation, reaffirming CHAUVET PROFESSIONAL’s commitment to the creators of scenic atmospheres.
With a meticulously planned agenda, the Summit opened with a series of sessions focused on Chauvet’s legacy and history. Attendees gained an up-close look at the company’s growth, understanding how its vision and development are deeply influenced by feedback from those who know the technology best: lighting designers. This exchange was the central theme of the event, aiming to foster more fluid and enriching communication between Chauvet and industry professionals.
In addition to learning about the latest brand advancements, participants had the opportunity to experience CHAUVET Professional’s newest releases, including the Maverick Silens 1X Profile, Maverick Silens 2X Profile, and the new Maverick Storm 3 BeamWash with its innovative contoured ring. The COLORado Solo Bar 1 and COLORado Solo Bar 4 bars also took the spotlight in these demonstrations, standing out for their versatility and power. Each product was thoroughly explored in a series of demos, allowing designers to appreciate their features and potential applications in show design.
The Summit’s second day focused on creating a space for dialogue between participants and the Chauvet team, where each designer could express their needs, concerns, and suggestions regarding the product line. This focus on honest, constructive feedback reflected the event’s main purpose: listening to and responding to designers’ needs to improve user experience and foster strategic collaboration. “These opportunities are truly special, and we appreciate them, as lighting designers take time out of their busy schedules to share their ideas, concerns, suggestions, and experiences with us,” commented Paula Ortiz, Business Development Manager for Latin America. “We hope to continue this enriching activity with more lighting designers working with artists performing in the Latin American region to keep learning and growing in the industry.”
Beyond the work, the Summit included moments of camaraderie, fostering an atmosphere of friendship and community. During meals and dinners, participants shared personal experiences and career perspectives, creating a unique space to strengthen the bonds of a community that, in many cases, has been working together for years. Conversations echoed with memories of shows, festivals, cue points, and shared laughter in a spirit of companionship that is the heart of the scenic lighting industry.
The response from attendees was one of sincere gratitude, underscoring the importance of such gatherings to strengthen their relationship with Chauvet. This event underscores the brand’s commitment to innovation and service, emphasizing that feedback from those on the front lines of every show is vital to continue developing products that genuinely meet industry needs.
With the success of this first Chauvet Lighting Designers Summit, the brand sets an inspiring precedent for the industry, reaffirming its commitment to creativity, excellence, and strengthening friendship and collaboration among lighting designers.
