At ISE 2026, Astera not only introduced one of the most talked-about innovations in the sector, but also received the Best of Show award in the TVBEurope category, further consolidating its position within the professional market for high-performance wireless lighting.
The Barcelona show was chosen as the stage for the official launch of QuickBeam, a super-bright Fresnel-lens luminaire that expands the renowned Quick Family and encapsulates the brand’s philosophy: speed, power, and operational efficiency in a compact format.
At the booth, Ben Díaz, Head of Product Management at Astera, clearly defined the context: “This year is a very strong show with many new developments from Astera,” anticipating a particularly strategic edition for the company.
Quick Family: speed as part of its DNA
For Astera, the Quick Family established itself as the central axis of its proposal at ISE. Díaz was unequivocal about it: “The flagship family from Astera,” he said, emphasizing that it was conceived from the beginning with a clear objective: optimizing setup times for large-scale productions.
“It’s a family designed for speed, to set up very quickly and to be able to handle large installations,” he explained.
The line is composed of three distinct formats: QuickPunch, the largest model, and QuickSpot, the most popular in the events segment, both of which had already been launched on the market. Recently, during ISE, Astera introduced the striking QuickBeam.
QuickPunch was described as an extremely versatile tool. “It is equivalent to a 650-watt tungsten Fresnel source, if you treat it as a Fresnel,” Díaz explained. However, he clarified that in essence it is a high-power uplight capable of working as a front light up to 7 or 7.5 meters, as a wall washer for large surfaces, or as uplighting for tall architectural columns.
QuickSpot, meanwhile, was conceived as the ideal solution for accents and columns at medium distances. “It’s a fixture designed to be an uplighter, to create accents on columns, and to work at a distance of between 3 and 5 meters.”
According to Díaz, its popularity in the events market comes down to a key balance: “If you want a good relationship between light output, price, and size, it’s probably the ideal option.”

QuickBeam: compact, powerful, and with interchangeable battery
QuickBeam was introduced only days before the show and quickly became one of the highlights at the booth. Díaz described it as the smallest format in the family, particularly attractive in two scenarios: events requiring a large number of accent units or smaller setups of eight to sixteen fixtures.
“For logistical reasons, because it’s smaller, you can have many more units and keep them within your budget,” he explained.
Designed as a super-bright, rapid-deployment luminaire, QuickBeam integrates a Fresnel lens with mechanical zoom from 13° to 60°, the Titan LED engine — delivering high CRI/TLCI values and precise color reproduction — and the HotBeam function, which produces an ultra-narrow, well-defined beam with strong center intensity, ideal for precise stage applications.
The adjustable zoom also responds to a practical need. “We mainly designed it so you don’t have to use filters or any kind of accessory that you might lose,” Díaz said, also highlighting the central “click” preset that allows users to quickly find the mid position without constantly checking the beam angle.
In terms of connectivity, QuickBeam features a single EtherCON connector with Power over Ethernet. “The big advantage of QuickBeam is that it only has one connector, an EtherCON, which allows you to work with Power over Ethernet,” Díaz explained. This enables both power and data to be transmitted through a single cable over distances of up to 100 meters using protocols such as sACN and ArtNet, simplifying installation.
However, the real “wow moment” of the launch was something else: the interchangeable battery using the QuikBrick system.
“This is the first time we’ve done this at Astera — the first time Astera has a product where you can replace the battery,” Díaz said.
The decision was not accidental. It addressed a real challenge within the rental market. “If you have a rental company or a venue and you already rent out many Astera fixtures, one situation you face with other products is that you have to recharge the fixture before sending it to another job. With QuickBeam, you can keep extra batteries ready, open the flight case, take fresh batteries, swap them, and the fixture goes straight to the next client.”
This solution maximizes fixture turnover and reduces downtime — a critical factor in corporate, broadcast, and live event environments.
A complete ecosystem and international recognition
Beyond the differences between models, the entire Quick Family shares Astera’s technological DNA: integrated battery, wireless DMX, Bluetooth, WiFi, and compatibility with Astera Box via UHF radio frequency, along with the renowned Titan Engine present across the brand’s range.
QuickBeam is available in portable kits of two or four units, including NetBox, ChargingDock, and accessories, reinforcing its “ready-to-work” approach for any professional environment, with IP65 protection for both indoor and outdoor applications.
The impact of the launch was confirmed with the Best of Show award, granted by a specialized jury that evaluated innovation, functionality, ease of use, and market differentiation. For Astera, the recognition represents direct validation of its development strategy based on continuous feedback from designers, technicians, rental companies, and system integrators.
ISE 2026 once again demonstrated that it is not only a technological showcase, but also the core meeting point where integration, production, and real solutions for the professional market converge.
Díaz summarized it clearly: “As I said, it’s the flagship product — or the flagship family — of the show.”
With QuickBeam and the evolution of the Quick Family, Astera did not simply present a new product; it reaffirmed a vision: engineering focused on operational efficiency, intelligent connectivity, and tools designed for the real pace of the industry.
