D.T.S. will light this 18th edition of the
festival with its latest generation of moving heads, in a close collaboration
with the French company ESL, technical partner of Fiest\’A Sète. The 18th edition
of \’Fiest\’A Sète\’ will be held in Sète, in southern France, from 2 to 8 August.
\’Fiest\’A Sète\’ is an almost unique ethnic music
festival, that hosts cultures and rhythms from around the world, challenging
placements into genres.
The festival will feature 7 evenings in the
fascinating Théâtre de la Mer, an amphitheater offering a picturesque view of
the Mediterranean Sea right behind the stage.
The artistic director of Fiest\’A Sète, José Bel,
has gathered a stellar cast that includes Bootsy Collins (USA), Roberto Fonseca
(Cuba), Goran Bregovic (Serbia), Juan Carmona (Spain), Trilok Gurtu (India)
Aziz Sahmaoui (Morocco), just to name a few.
Olivier Torres, Technical Manager of ESL,
describes the reasons for the choice of D.T.S. fixtures: \”The stage of the
Théâtre de la Mer has a limited depth, which allows you to install a small
amount of trusses. In addition, we manage 14 artists in 7 nights, with
different needs for lighting of each concert.
The ideal projector in this situation is a
compact moving head, very efficient, and versatile enough to allow any
application, which lets us to install fewer projectors, with a streamlined and
effective control of the system.
So we decided to install two new fixtures by D.T.S.:
MAX – probably the most complete moving head on the market today, and the
WONDER.
The WONDER contains a completely new technology
for a LED Wash: a double concentric optical unit that allows you to shape the
beam of light in a completely new way, complemented by a dynamic management of
the LEDs.
Therefore we will use it either as a Beam and as
a Wash, and to generate a series of expressive multicolored projections in the
air.\”
