With almost a decade of experience representing NEXO in Venezuela, Sun Music Pro has established itself as a reference distributor in the professional audio field.
Located in La Trinidad, Caracas, the company specializes in both commercial and residential acoustic solutions, as well as live projects.
Over these 9 years, they have worked closely with the NEXO brand, recognized worldwide for its innovations in high-quality sound, providing technical advice and audio solutions to a variety of projects across the country.
One of their most recent and notable projects is the installation of a sound system in the Divine Mercy Chapel, a new Catholic house of worship in Acarigua, Venezuela.
In this sacred space, the clients required a system that offered impeccable sound quality to ensure clarity in speeches, while also maintaining minimal visual impact.
To meet these requirements, the Sun Music Pro team, led by Valeska Grüber, Commercial Manager, opted for a solution from NEXO’s ID and ePS Series, which combine advanced technology in an ultra-compact format and are ideal for projects demanding visual discretion without compromising sound performance.
The opportunity to install the sound system in the Divine Mercy Chapel arose thanks to a recommendation from one of Sun Music Pro’s clients in the live sound sector. Valeska Grüber explains: “The chapel was part of the development of the recreational area at the Mary Lancarina plant, owned by Alimentos Mary, which also includes sports fields, a gym, and a lagoon. They wanted to have a sacred and special place to hear the word of God every Sunday.”
Alimentos Mary is a family-owned company mainly focused on the production and commercialization of products such as rice, flours, grains, and legumes. The chapel is located at the Mary Lancarina plant, in Araure, Portuguesa state, consolidating the space as a place of spiritual reflection within a recreational setting.
The decision to use a NEXO system for the installation in the Divine Mercy Chapel was carefully considered, due to the project’s specific demands. As Valeska describes: “We chose NEXO because the requirement was to have a high-quality sound system that could transmit and allow people to enjoy the word and music of God in an intelligible way. We knew it was the right solution because of the efficiency of the speakers in relation to their size, the extraordinary sound quality, the ability to customize colors, and, of course, the brand’s guarantee.”
NEXO not only offered superior acoustic performance for this project but also allowed for aesthetic adaptation to the chapel’s space, respecting the spiritual and visual atmosphere of the place.
To carry out this work, Sun Music Pro had the direct support of NEXO. “We were assisted by Roberto Tschopp, Engineering Support, for the development of this project, speaker specification, and their positions, as well as amplification.”
The installation of the system was designed and programmed by Valeska Grüber, along with Eduardo Villani, civil engineer, who, with his team, was in charge of the technical execution, which included piping, wiring, connection, and equipment installation. This coordinated teamwork ensured that every aspect of the sound system was integrated precisely and efficiently into the space.
Various NEXO equipment was used to meet the acoustic and aesthetic requirements of the space. The 2 iD84 speakers were placed as front fills on either side of the altar, with a custom color to blend into the environment. The custom-colored iD84 was also used as the central speaker, mounted above the altar in the center of the vaulted ceiling. Additionally, 6 white iD24 speakers were installed as relays in the nave of the chapel, providing uniform coverage throughout the area.
During the installation, Valeska comments that no significant challenges were encountered when working with the equipment regarding the technical aspects of the installation and programming, highlighting the importance of brand support: “For the configuration and calibration of the sound system, we invited the Sales Manager for LATAM, Hely Chirinos, who assisted us and was able to certify that the project was executed according to NEXO’s standards.”
For Sun Music Pro, completing the project at the Divine Mercy Chapel represents a great achievement for the firm: “We are very proud to have been able to provide the Divine Mercy Chapel with an audio solution that met the quality expectations and needs they had,” says Valeska, adding a personal story, “Valeria Di Lanzo, the project’s architect and granddaughter of one of the founding members of Alimentos Mary, told us that her grandfather is a musician and plays the keyboard for the church choir, and he was the one who requested that the chapel have a high-quality professional audio system.”
If one quality of NEXO products had to be highlighted, it would be their efficiency relative to the size of the speakers and their ability to aesthetically integrate into the environment. Valeska emphasizes this advantage: “The NEXO audio system proposed for the project is characterized by being extremely efficient in terms of the size of each speaker and also blending with the chapel’s aesthetics in terms of colors and finishes. It was very important that the equipment was not visually intrusive, both in color and design.”
The installation was carried out by the Sun Music Pro team. “The installation was executed by our Civil Engineering and Engineering Support departments at Sun Music Pro, consisting of engineer Eduardo Villani, Jimmy Mercado, Antony Martínez, and Asdrúbal Herrera,” mentions Valeska with pride.
She also evaluates Sun Music Pro’s relationship with the NEXO staff very positively. She comments: “We are in constant communication with Hely Chirinos and Roberto Tschopp, key figures for the development of NEXO in the LATAM region. We consider that they have been crucial with their advice and assistance in the development of our proposals with NEXO, and they do an excellent job of follow-up and support at all stages of the projects. They are an incredible duo!”
And of course, there is room for personal reflection, especially after projects like this one, which combines personal stories and specific needs: “We believe Sun Music Pro is making a difference in the professional sound market, particularly in the installation sector. We have about 10 years designing audio solutions that foster effective communication and ensure speech intelligibility, sounds, and music. At the same time, we create spaces for training, product demonstrations, and training in each of our solutions and brands, and we seek to share knowledge that contributes to creating environments that sound as good as they look,” Valeska details enthusiastically.
These words make clear Sun Music Pro’s commitment to excellence in the professional sound field, and the sound installation at the Divine Mercy Chapel demonstrates how, through their work, NEXO systems combined performance and aesthetics exceptionally well.
Undoubtedly, NEXO combines advanced technology with aesthetic sensitivity, offering solutions that not only meet acoustic demands but also perfectly align with the design of the environment.
