K SYSTEM, Naostage’s beaconless, AI-powered tracking and show control solution for pro-AVL applications, celebrated its first deployments in Asia this summer, demonstrating to Chinese audiences for the first time how the technology can effortlessly support live entertainment and corporate events by automating audio and visual effects.
Following a successful exhibition at Prolight + Sound Guangzhou, where Naostage’s distributor for mainland China, EZpro International, showcased its capabilities for the first time to an APAC trade show audience, K SYSTEM was deployed to deliver reliable real-time tracking for several high-profile live events, powering spatial audio localisation, automatic light tracking and interactive projection-mapped visuals without the need for beacons or location tags.
On World Earth Day 2025, headphone brand Cleer debuted two new wireless earbud series during a product launch event in Shenzhen conceived and broadcast by the Chinese state broadcaster, CCTV (China Central Television). At the Shenzhen International Low-Carbon Hall Exhibition Hall, EZpro and CCTV deployed a single K SYSTEM rig for continuous 3D performer tracking to feed an Astro Spatial Audio immersive audio system.
As presenters and performers moved across the stage, K SYSTEM’s beaconless tracking capabilities enabled sound objects to follow them naturally in real time, anchoring voices and effects to their precise on-stage positions. With clear, lifelike sound that matched the movement on stage and no need for wearables, markers or additional sound crew, the event was a major success for Cleer, whose theme for the launch was ‘Put on Cleer AI and Hear a New World’.
Following another outing in Shenzhen for the stage production Reborn Beats at the Poly Theatre, where K SYSTEM enabled performers to be tracked automatically by the lighting fixtures, the system continued its summer tour in Shanghai, underpinning a striking runway sequence at the tenth Think Youth fashion competition, held by Shanghai Vocational College of Film Art in July.
During the show, models in white garments became living canvases for dynamic visual content as students from nearly 100 universities across the world competed across nine categories. Using K SYSTEM’s PosiStageNet (PSN) capabilities to stream positional data to a hardware media server, the college’s AV team projection mapped animated textures and graphic motifs onto the runway models’ moving bodies, producing a seamless light-and-shadow illusion that would have been near impossible to cue by hand.
Additionally, both the Shenzhen and Shanghai projects relied on K SYSTEM to track multiple moving targets in large, light-filled environments – conditions that are traditionally a challenge for legacy tracking methods.
