The Love the 90’s Valencia festival once again filled the City of Arts and Sciences with music, consolidating itself as one of the most vibrant and exciting events for fans of 90’s music. Fluge Audiovisuales managed the entire festival and equipped Stage 2 with DAS Audio systems, in a design carried out by engineer Íñigo Moneo that ensured powerful and balanced sound.
The challenge was not easy. The stage structure had a height limitation that conditioned the setup and reduced the number of boxes that could be flown in the PA. These restrictions could compromise both sound pressure and coverage in a large venue with such a demanding architectural environment. From the start, the technical approach focused on a clear strategy: maximizing the number of boxes in a reduced space and, above all, ensuring reliable performance and uniform coverage despite physical limitations. This achieved a balance between power, coverage, and intelligibility.
The solution consisted of a line array of 12 LARA systems per side, covering most of the audience with a powerful, clear, and linear response across the spectrum. Reinforcement in the front rows was provided by 6 SARA units as front fill, adding definition and presence in the areas closest to the stage, complemented by 8 SARA units as down fill.
Finally, 24 LARA-SUB subwoofers were placed in an L/R configuration to control the low end, something vital for this type of festival. Being cardioid systems, they not only delivered a strong and consistent punch throughout the audience area but also ensured precise dispersion control, minimizing unwanted build-up on stage and facilitating the work of the technical team.
The result was a compact and efficient system, adapted to the particularities of a space conditioned by its scenography. The work of Fluge Audiovisuales and Íñigo Moneo demonstrated how a good combination of design, planning, and technology can overcome limitations and deliver high-quality sound.
