FaitalPRO has announced the introduction of the new HX240 Series, comprised of three coaxial loudspeaker drivers that each incorporate a double neodymium magnet assembly, independent voice coils for the woofer and compression driver, and an embedded high-frequency horn all packaged in a custom aluminum basket.
Available with 8-, 10- and 12-inch woofers (models 8HX240, 10HX240 and 12HX240, respectively), the series offers the most compact, light weight and versatile coaxial design in the company’s history. All three models also incorporate all the benefits of the acoustical package of the HX230 range with the additional advantages of a full neodymium magnet structure.
The FEM-optimized neodymium magnet assemblies for both the woofer (2.56-inch voice coil) and the compression driver (1.46-inch voice coil) provides designers with the opportunity to produce lighter weight loudspeakers with a more compact footprint. The net weight of each driver is less than 10 pounds.
Stated dispersion is 100 degrees for the 8HX240 and 12HX240 models and 110 degrees for the 10HX240. The higher frequencies are controlled by a specifically designed embedded aluminum horn and phase plug that’s designed to provide optimal directivity and conical high-frequency dispersion. In addition, each unit incorporates a dedicated aluminum demodulation ring designed to significantly reduce harmonic and intermodulation distortion levels.
The stated high-frequency range of all three units is 20 kHz, with the 8HX240 covering down to 70 Hz; the 10HX240 at 65 Hz; and the 12HX240 extending to 55 Hz. Stated AES power handling for the three models is 250 watts (LF) and 30 watts (HF), and sensitivity is uniformly 94 dB (LF) and 107 dB (HF).
