The Spanish manufacturer Equipos Europeos Electrónicos – ALTAIR (based in Tres Cantos, Madrid) has announced that it will divide its activity into two independent commercial brands, with individualized distribution networks and pricing policies: “ALTAIR INTERCOM” and “ALTAIR proaudio”.

Founded in 1986, the company has its origins in professional audio, a field in which the brand is still very active and in which it had a resounding success in the 90s and 2000s. Over time and as is known, ALTAIR was redirecting its business model towards the communications market for the entertainment and broadcast industry (which today represents the most significant part of its business), maintaining a proaudio branch in which products such as its popular press racks or the “MAP” DSP matrices for fixed installation can be found.

According to ALTAIR’s sales team, after “a long period” in which the company has been discussing its medium and long-term strategy internally, the decision has been made to create the two new brands, in order to properly develop the distribution and sales channels appropriate for each type of product.

This also seeks to give greater importance to ALTAIR’s audio products, in order to achieve a higher market share for them and with the ultimate goal of relaunching this activity in which ALTAIR has been very strong in the past.

In addition, European Electronic Equipment already has several developments and ideas underway for both brands, so interesting news can be expected in the near future.
